Prevent and Treat Acne With Natural Remedies

Face, neck, back and / or shoulders pimples are specific for acne. Manifesting especially during adolescence, when appearance matters the most, it can be very troublesome, even if it doesn't come up with risks. Acne is more common in boys than in girls.

The cause of acne is hypersensitivity to normal levels of sex hormone testosterone. This hypersensitivity causes an abnormally high production of sebum, the fatty substance secreted by the sebaceous glands, which protects the skin. At the same time, an abnormal reaction inside the channels of sebaceous glands make the lining cells become too sticky. Instead of being removed after they die, these cells gather and clog the seborrhea channel. Accumulated sebum hardens, forming a black or whitehead, and bacteria present on the skin surface can easily multiply, producing red and swollen pustule, typical for acne.

In severe cases, these blisters can turn into comedones or cysts filled with fluid. Certain medications – some birth control pills, steroids and epilepsy drugs – can aggravate acne. In some women, acne is a symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition that can trigger hormonal and menstrual irregularities, infertility, excessive hair growth and weight gain.

How to prevent acne

The following recommendation is useful to anyone who tends to suffer from acne and can be the simplest way to control mild acne.

  • Wash your face with a soap that does not contain oil, but does not dry the skin;
  • If you need an emollient, use one that is not greasy;
  • Ultraviolet rays are effective against acne, so you should expose your skin to sunlight for at least half an hour a day, but not when the sun is at its maximum intensity (during summer, between 10 AM and 3 PM);
  • Choose your sunscreen carefully. Buy products without PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) and no cosmetic ingredients that can clog pores;
  • Avoid sweating hard and spending much time in wet environments; skin problems can get worse;
